As a Systems Management Engineer on the Watson Cloud Infrastructure and Operational Support Services (OSS) team, you will be part of a driven team responsible for the delivery of Watson solutions into a wide range of Clients and Business Sectors. You will be responsible for implementing and supporting servers, storage, and end-to-end systems for large-scale enterprise cloud environments for Watson delivery.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting engineered IT services and products that meet worldwide clients' needs. The team handles multiple high profile beta and production operations. Deployments tailored to the customer, and are hosted in IBM data centers, on customer premise, in SoftLayer, and are a mix of appliance style deployments and traditional enterprise deployments. The team is establishing repetitive go to market solutions and cutting edge deployment models using advanced System p and Intel technology for the Watson Cloud deployment in IBM data centers, SoftLayer, and at customer sites. Watson solutions involve complex and challenging problem determination across a wide array of parallel cooperating Linux operating systems with interfaces to analytics products.

As a member of this team you will setup, administer and troubleshoot Watson Solutions, Infrastructure and Operations. Candidates must have demonstrated Linux system administration skills and will execute a broad blend of analysis, performance, reporting, administration, and customer support. Watson Systems Management Engineers will deploy, manage and patch the servers, address customer Level 3 support questions about the Watson deployment(s), provide direct hands on problem determination, and work on improving the performance and automation of the systems.

Demonstrated skill with Linux systems administration on Intel and power systems, data center operations, System p installation and support, security management, server management, patch management, storage and network management, and systems build configuration and administration. Linux on Power, Redhat Linux, AIX, Unix, DataPower, Eclipse, DB2, Websphere 8.5, GPFS, xCAT, ITIM, TPM, and Cloud. Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 1 year experience in manage and support Linux Operating Systems
  • At least 1 year experience in apply knowledge System/Operating Systems Tools
  • At least 1 year experience in problem Determination and Support of Systems
  • At least 1 year experience in system and component patching
  • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • Technical Diploma in Information Technology

Job Description:
The Actuarial Analytics Modeling Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide modeling oversight and guidance to a team of modelers and engaging hands-on with the models SAS as necessary. The SME will also be responsible for evaluating model performance and suggest modeling techniques to improve performance, as well as managing staff and projects.

Candidates must be willing and able to qualify and pass security, the basic clearance processes required by most federal agencies.

Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the metropolitan area or at an IBM client site. Selected candidates may not need to travel for all projects outside of their metro area. However, all candidates must be able and willing to travel based on assigned project demand. Travel requirements may vary but could be up to 100%.
