Job Description:
The Cognos Architect will be
responsible for leading all aspects of the technical review, design,
development, deployment, and integration of the solution to solve our client's
budgeting, planning, execution, performance management and reporting
challenges.
The Cognos Architect will be responsible for driving the technical decisions, managing the design of a new solution or application – based on the specified functional and non-functional business requirements, and managing the overall structure, layout, and integration with the enterprise Information Technology (IT) systems, including infrastructure sizing, the interface of new business services, and IT strategies and expected behavior of service in terms of performance and service levels. The Cognos Architect will also be responsible for developing and building the solution.
In addition, the Cognos Architect will also be responsible for the design, build, and manage solutions using Cognos Business Intelligence (BI), a software tool that combines all the functions of performance management: reporting, analysis, scorecarding, data integration, event management, dashboards, and more.
The Cognos Architect will also design, build, and manage solutions using Table Manager 1 (TM1) a software tool used to implement planning, budgeting and forecasting solutions and which is often used to create interactive business models. TM1 has tools for extracting and loading data and meta-data and has a variety of tools for creating forms and reports. As part of IBM's suite of business analytics tools, TM1 integrates seamlessly with other Cognos products.
Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the metropolitan area or at an IBM client site.
Selected candidates may not need to travel for all projects outside of their metro area. However, all candidates must be able and willing to travel based on assigned project demand. Travel requirements may vary but could be up to 100%. Candidates are not able to refuse project based on travel.

- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 3 years experience in Cognos solution design, installation, configuration/programming, implementation and administration including all components of Cognos software
- At least 3 years experience in System review of current solution/environment and system design, implementation and integration
- At least 3 years experience in Design, build, and manage solutions using Cognos Business Intelligence or BI, a software tool that combines all the functions of performance management: reporting, analysis, scorecarding, data integra
- At least 3 years experience in Design, build, and manage solutions using TM1 (Table Manager 1), a software tool used to implement planning, budgeting and forecasting solutions and which is often used to create interactive business
- Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- U.S. citizenship required
- English: Basic knowledge
