Job Description:
The Predictive Modeling Analyst will
be responsible for developing fraud detection models and using advanced
predictive analytic techniques (e.g., decision trees, neural networks) to
detect fraud.
The Predictive Modeling Analyst will also be responsible for all phases of this project from designing and developing models, deploying and monitoring the performance of the models in the production environment and synthesizing analytics with big data to solve complex problems.
In addition, the Predictive Modeling Analyst will design, develop, and deploy an in-database scoring engine using SAS Scoring Accelerator for Greenplum and PL/pgSQL functions, develop sampling plans to create training, testing, and validation datasets for use in building predictive models, and conduct client interviews and perform independent research of third party sources to build Business Understanding of fraud schemes and how these schemes manifest themselves quantitatively. This role will conduct data analysis using descriptive statistics to build understanding of data available for modeling and present Business and Data Understanding findings to team and provide recommendations for predictive model design based qualitative and quantitative results. Additionally, they will develop predictive models to identify fraud and coordinate deployment of models to multiple database environments.
The Predictive Modeling Analyst will develop PL/pgSQL functions and scripts to orchestrate the end-to-end in-database predictive analytics solution using Greenplum Data Computing Appliance (DCA) and SAS Scoring Accelerator. They will execute full Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) process to develop predictive models, support the deployment of models to various environments including testing and debugging of the models in the environments, and provide ad-hoc analyses and support of predictive analytics performance.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for the clearance application.
Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the metropolitan area or at an IBM client site. Selected candidates may not need to travel for all projects outside of their metro area. However, all candidates must be able and willing to travel based on assigned project demand. Travel requirements may vary but could be up to 100%. Candidates are not able to refuse project based on travel.

- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 2 years experience in hands-on technical experience using SAS in a “big data” setting employing best practices for analysis of large datasets
- At least 2 years experience in using SQL to query and analyze database
- At least 2 years experience in statistical analysis and predictive analysis
- At least 1 year experience in using CRoss-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) to develop predictive models
- At least 2 years experience in leading/managing significant tasks related to deploying predictive models to a Greenplum database
- At least 2 years experience in working in a consultative orientation; delivering a broad range of innovative and value-added services balancing multiple client projects and other responsibilities
- Readiness to travel Up to 4 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- English: Basic knowledge
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree
- Security clearance of MBI
- English : Intermediate
